- Type/Screen card is for the confirmation of the blood groups of the ABO and Rh (D) systems and indirect Coombs tests. The indirect Coombs tests include screening of unexpected antibodies, crossmatch tests, and autocontrol.
- The type and screen test must not be used to replace full crossmatch where the crossmatch is designated as a mandatory procedure by the national regulatory body.
